In the beginning, there was Sara Ledford and Xiaoming Wu, hence Ledford & Wu. Mr. Wu (commonly referred to as Dr. Wu due to his expertise) left his position as the Supervising Chapter 13 Attorney with a large multi-state firm because he was dissatisfied with the level of client service, the quality of legal work and attention to detail being paid to his clients by the mostly young and inexperienced attorneys within the firm. When he left, he took his most trusted associate, Ms. Ledford, with him and together they formed Ledford & Wu. Their shared vision is of a firm where customer service is as important as legal service, where expertise is more important than advertising and where the bottom line refers to client satisfaction, not the lining of their pockets.
This vision was effective and soon after opening, Ledford & Wu was ready to expand. In their expansion, they wanted to ensure that there would be no decrease in the level of customer service or legal expertise. In a fortunate coincidence, a colleague of theirs was similarly frustrated with his position as Managing Attorney at a large bankruptcy firm and was preparing to go out on his own. Instead, George Vogl joined Ledford & Wu, adding a third experienced and successful bankruptcy attorney to an already accomplished firm.
After a couple of years of excellence, Ledford & Wu was ready to expand again. The search for new attorneys was limited to a select few who were already practicing bankruptcy at a high level on a daily basis. The addition of two more experienced and successful bankruptcy attorneys put Ledford & Wu into a class of their own. The story does not end here, however.
In 2008, an old friend and highly skilled competitor of Ledford & Wu contacted the firm. His partner had elected to remove herself from the practice of law in the Chicagoland area and he was not interested in attempting to continue on his own. After a meal and a long conversation, Orlando Velazquez was welcomed as the newest partner at Ledford & Wu. His years of experience and in-depth knowledge of bankruptcy law pushed an already exceptional team to an even higher level.
Again in 2010 Ledford & Wu was looking to expand. In doing so we again hired another experienced and exceptionally qualified attorney. Today, the seven attorneys at Ledford & Wu re-commit themselves daily to the core beliefs upon which the firm was founded. Legal expertise, client service, reasonable fees and a desire to maintain the highest legal and ethical standards in the practice keeps Ledford & Wu as a premier bankruptcy and consumer rights firm in the Chicagoland area.
