Chapter 9
Chapter 9 allows a municipality to propose a plan to adjust its debts by modifying, reducing or eliminating the debts. A municipality may not file Chapter 9 bankruptcy unless authorized by the law of its state.
Chapter 12
Chapter 12 allows a family farmer or fisherman to propose a plan to adjust its debts by modifying, reducing or eliminating the debts. It works very similarly to Chapter 13, but is only available to a very limited class of people.
Chapter 15
Chapter 15 governs bankruptcy or other insolvency proceedings in cross-border cases.
