By carefully examining your credit report, you will immediately notice if an error has been made. As soon as you see a mistake, it is wise to contact the reporting agency. We encourage our clients to send a certified letter to the appropriate credit bureau referencing the report, the inaccuracy and the correct information. We also recommend keeping a copy of this letter and all corresponding documentation for your own personal records.
After being notified of an error, the reporting agency typically has 30 days to correct the mistake. If they do not fix the error within the allotted time, contact us.
